Full Disk Encryption Not Secure

It looks like some smart people have discovered a way to break various Full Disk Encryption products.  Apparently they were able to extract the residual memory from the previous session after a cold boot.  Theres a pretty good write up of the story and a demostration video on wired here.

Return of Source Force?

Slashdot has always been known for posting old news but this is rediculous.  They've actually posted an article about the Source Force action figures campaign that was launched over a year ago and ended Per the article summary "April 15th 2007".  The sad thing is that I was actually excited to see this article because I missed out on getting the action figures before.

In any event what are they trying to say? Never attribute to malice what can be adequately explained by stupidity. </endpost>
